Emily (1898)
A Mallacoota-owned cutter that left Eden in ballast and foundered in heavy weather. Her dinghy and a cap washed up at Tullaberga Island.
The story
The Emily was owned by F. W. Wilson and J. A. Dorran of Mallacoota. She left Eden for Mallacoota carrying only ballast.
She foundered in heavy weather and both crew were lost. Her dinghy and a man’s cap washed ashore at Tullaberga Island, and other wreckage including a boat was recovered between Mallacoota and Gabo Island. No remains of the crew were found.
Archive photographs for this wreck are being gathered and will be added here.
